The Data Security Inc HD-6600 Degausser meets NSA and CESG requirements for purging Top Secret Media that is classified up to and including Business Impact Level 6 (BIL6) on Hard Disk Media with coercivities up to 4200 Oersteds and Magnetic Tape Media with coercivities up to 2800 Oersteds. It accepts Hard Drives 3.5’’ (89mm) high by 6’’ (152mm) wide by 10’’ (254mm) deep including Floppy Disks, Zip Disks, Jazz Disks and Hard Disk Drives without removing the Disk Platters, plus Tape Media including DLT, LTO, 8mm, DDS, and VHS. Organizations still carry large amounts of older ‘Half-Height’ Disk Drives that need to be sanitised at their end of life. The HD-6600 accepts older Disk Drives and does not require you to disassemble the Drive to Degauss Platters individually.
