For volume erasure of high-density metal tapes and cassettes the CESG Approved Verity SV5000 performance will satisfy the requirements. Automatically controlled by an electric eye the reels, disks or cassettes are placed on the wide conveyor belt where they are transported through the 4000 Gauss field.

Up to five thousand diskettes or five hundred VHS cassettes can be erased per hour. The SV5000 has been specifically designed to meet exacting performance criteria demanded and expected by security operations requiring safe, effective and secure management of their magnetic media. Media Handling: • Reels: ¼", ½", 1" formats. Max dia 10½"• Cassettes: all formats • Cartridge: all formats

The SV5000 security degausser is government approved to the CESG Degaussing Standard. This new Standard has two levels of degaussing: • Lower Level - for RESTRICTED and below. • Higher Level - for CONFIDENTIAL and above Currently the SV5000 is approved at the Lower Level. This means any magnetic media (holding RESTRICTED or less) may be regarded as NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED after being degaussed. The SV5000 may still be used to degauss magnetic media at CONFIDENTIAL and above, but the degaussed media is subject to additional handling requirements (detailed in S(E)N 06/09). The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation has also approved the SV5000 for security applications. The NATO stock numbers are as follows: • 7035-99-215-6489 (50Hz) • 7035-99-935-7729 (60Hz) Also meets German security approval DIN33858.
